About me and my therapy practice

Talking therapy can alleviate the pain you may be experiencing.

I create a compassionate, confidential space where you can begin to unravel any personal challenges you are experiencing. I tailor a blend of therapy approaches to meet your needs. We work together to gain a deeper awareness of your present thoughts, emotions and behaviours.  This assists you to gain a non- judgemental place of your difficulties to support a healthier sense of self.

Practice description

My training is in person centred, humanistic and psychodynamic counselling.  My background is in educational settings where I supported young adults and staff.

I like to get to know you as a unique individual and to understand how you become the person you are today. This can help to identify your coping skills and what tools we can develop to support you in your personal development.

My primal approach is to support you in your present life and the blocks in your thinking that may be preventing you from living the life you want.

Therapy sessions are lead by you where we begin to unravel your concerns and find gentle ways of healing.  Setting achievable steps towards change in cognitive thinking or behaviours can then be empowering and life changing.

My first session

Starting your counselling journey can feel uneasy so it is important to choose a counsellor that you feel comfortable talking to.

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation where we can begin to explore what has brought you to therapy and I welcome any questions you may have.

Appointments are for fifty minutes.  I offer appointments online.  I offer short term and long term appointments and can offer flexibility.

About me and my therapy practice

We have all experienced times when life feels more challenging and we can feel anxious and lost.  In my practice, I walk with you through therapy to begin to understand the emotions you are experiencing and provide guidance aimed at self regulation, self care and compassion.  With all the outside pressures that impact on personal and collective anxieties in the World, we often forget to give attention to our inner World, how we really relate to ourselves is often neglected.

My therapeutic approach is to guide you towards exploring any present difficulties with a new curiosity.  As an integrative counsellor I embrace many therapeutic models that help me to adapt and match your unique individual needs in therapy. 

Practice description

My aim is to provide a supportive and confidential space for you to feel empowered with a growing understanding of yourself and personal relationships.  We can work on building new processing tools and a fresh awareness of your resilience.  I offer guidance towards the value of self reflection as your gain insight into the roots of your thinking and core self beliefs.  I believe past experiences can significantly inform and shape our internal structures.  Confidential discussions can bring into awareness the unconscious blocks that keep us stuck in unhealthy places. 

My first session

An initial phone consultation or a first therapy appointment provides an opportunity for us to discuss how I can support you.  There is no obligation to commit at this stage to ongoing work.  

If you decide you would like to work with me, we agree upon suitable times for appointments on a short term or ongoing basis in order to facilitate and give momentum to the therapeutic process.  Regular contact provides a sense of security and continuity whilst you are engaged in therapy. 

I offer therapy appointments online, short term or long term.

I offer a calm and supportive confidential space for you to feel heard and understood.  This can support you to feel empowered as you grow a deeper understanding of yourself and personal relationships.  

Unravelling any anxiety, stresses or low mood can help you to manage uncomfortable emotions and help self regulate with healthy coping skills.

I encourage curiosity around your thinking and self beliefs.  I also encourage you to consider how you make necessary time to meet your own needs.  

We can explore how you maintain healthy boundaries - How do you cultivate healthy communication and healthy boundaries in your work and relationships. What is stopping you for being the person you would like to be?

Practice description

My first session

Upon confirmation of your first zoom appointment, I will send you a few questions which you can answer on email or verbally to me during your appointment.

In this first meeting I want to get to know about your family background and connections.

I want to know what has brought you to therapy and how you are caring for yourself.  

The direction of therapy is guided by your needs in the present moment.  I will explain any therapeutic insights with you and we can set achievable goals and on-going guidance.
